Rohaja is the young Empress of the Middenrealm. She is a heroine who actively tackles issues and rallies upstanding champions who follow her every command. Her battle experience makes her a prudent ruler, and she travels with her Imperial Court from palace to palace to address the worries and needs of her subjects and dispense justice. She married the love of her youth, Rondrigan Paligan, who loyally serves her in the capital as Grand Privy Councilor of the Realm. They have no children, much to the dismay of the people and of utmost concern to the nobility. Some even whisper that the Empress is cursed and, therefore, cannot give birth to an heir. Many now put their hopes of an heir in Rohaja’s twin sister, Yppolita, who is actually older than Rohaja by a few minutes but who was not permitted to ascend to the throne because she is a guild mage.
