Waqqif
“You infidels speak about my waqqif as if it is simply a curved dagger. But it’s far more than that. One cannot be a Novadi warrior without a waqqif. The closest comparison may be the dragon tooths used by dwarves, or the elf bows used by djinn. It is a holy weapon, and may Rastullah punish me if I ever lose it.” -Rashim ben Shafir, Novadi warrior, modern
The curved dagger known as the waqqif is at least as common as the regular dagger in the Lands of the Tulamydes. Its curved blade is wellsuited for cutting cloth and inflicting grievous injuries, though precise attacks are practically impossible in combat. This weapon is a symbol of status for almost every Novadi, even those who are not tribal warriors.
