Slave-death

“These ruffians keep their poor slaves in line with two kinds of weapons. The common whip, and a variant of the saber. It looks like a Tulamydian Khunchomer, and probably arose from it, but the front of the blade has an assortment of projections. At first, I thought these were only decorative, but the overseers boasted that they cause horrifying injuries. Truly, this land is savage!”
— Excerpt from a letter by the traveling botanist Hesindan Thousandbloom, to his sister, 1024 FB

The blade tip of this scimitar has prongs, thorns, or notches whose primary purpose is to make this weapon look intimidating. However, in combat, these so-called adornments tend to snag an opponent’s weapon when parrying, causing no end of trouble for the wielder. Even so, slavers feel that the weapon’s brutal appearance and ability to inflict painful wounds makes up for any deficiencies.

This weapon is widespread across the entire south, where it is quite popular with slave overseers and slave hunters. It is also popular with former slaves who became pirates and now hunt slave traders with a vengeance. These free souls have started calling the weapon by a new name—one that slave traders are learning to fear. That name is slaver-death.

Weapon Advantage: Gain +1 DP versus humanoids with PRO 0.

Weapon Disadvantage: After a successful parry, roll 1D6. On a result of 6, the slave-death becomes temporarily entangled with the enemy’s weapon, and the wielder suffers a -1 penalty to AT during the next CR. This rule does not apply to attacks against unarmed opponents.
