Horse Whip
“When I see a horse whip, I always think of that explorer from the Horasian Empire. She could knock a fly’s wings off with that thing.”
-Silvario Dellamonte, Meridian questador, 1034 FB
Whips are common in Aventuria. Most are made from woven leather straps. The most common variant is the horse whip, which has a length of 6 to 10 feet and is primarily used to goad draft animals. Many teamsters also use it to keep thieves and wild animals at bay, and some even use it on their fellows during certain competitions.
Quite a few performers employ whips in their acts, and since audiences demand artistic subtlety and flashy maneuvers, they use a version with a maximum length of 6 feet. This version also is popular among explorers, as it easier to handle than the kind used by teamsters and has many uses, such as an improvised rope. Also, leather resists the jungle environment if it is greased every now and then.
