Blowpipe
“A tiny needle? Is that all you’ve got? I’ll… ungh.”
— Last words of Silvario Dellamonte, Meridianan questador, 1035 FB
The blowpipe was invented by the Forest Folk and is still mainly used by Moha and Utulus, though occasionally skilled users turn up in the towns and settlements of southern Aventuria. Blowpipes use powerful puffs of breath to fire thin projectiles called blowdarts. Unsurprisingly, they inflict little damage but usually carry poison (inhabitants of the jungles of southern Aventuria know of several animal- and plant-based poisons that cripple or even kill, depending on the dose and the user’s intention).
A blowpipe tube can be up to 8 feet long and is usually made from a single stalk of bamboo. Some owners decorate them, believing that art contributes to the success of the hunt. Colorful specimens are popular with those who collect exotic items from the south.

“They probably turned them all into flutes. The principle is the same: simply puff some air through them.”
