Throwing Club
“Winter had been brutal and the only herd of wild karan we had seen was almost out of range. We decided to take our chances and throw our last club. The Heavenly Sky Wolves heard our prayers. Finally, we had something to eat.”
— Aki, Nivese hunter
The throwing club is basically a broad piece of wood with a grip at one end and a round striking head at the other. Tribes of Nivese still make them and use them for both hunting and war.
The wielder throws the club between the legs of a running animal (or enemy) and knocks it down so pursuers can catch and overwhelm it. Hits elsewhere on the body, especially the head, are painful but not lethal. Heavy armor protects well against throwing clubs.

“Well, it is a hunting weapon, but it will serve in a pinch when no other weapons area available—and you don’t care about pleasing Rondra.”
— Arbosh son of Angrax, forge dwarf master smith
