Copper Cauldron

“I’ll cook a nice soup with you…um…I mean for you, of course.”
-Old Hilgard, witch of dubious reputation, 1034 FB

While pots and cauldrons come in many different materials, most Aventurians prefer one made from copper. It heats up quickly and looks good, and rusts very slowly. Copper pots are ideal for cooking and frying, and are well suited for use in an alchemical laboratory. Quite a few travelers have invented additional uses for pots, such as a bucket, as a home for a magic fish, and as an improvised and impressive, albeit hardly useful, helmet.

Copper cauldrons come in different sizes. The smallest are about as large as a soup bowl, while the largest specimens are difficult to move, especially when they are filled with stew.

Since copper looks very like orange, the color associated with the goddess Travia, pious households always keep a polished shine on pots and pans. The rare adornment of a Travia temple also is often made of copper, and many Blessed Ones view large copper cauldrons as the most important decoration of their house of worship.

Just as with alchemists, witches use copper cauldrons for cooking and to brew special potions and other mixtures. According to rumor, they even have magic cauldrons that can bring the dead back to life or do other, equally powerful and mysterious things.
