Sword Cane

“Rarely have I seen a more elegant man. Exquisite clothes, excellent manners, enviable taste in wine. Imagine my surprise when he chased away two ruffians with his hidden sword.”
— Jarina Caspari of Silas, author, 1039 FB

The sword cane is the ideal accessory for balls, banquets, and other social events in which weapons are prohibited or simply do not fit the dress code.

It looks, from the outside, like a regular walking cane, and indeed it serves as one. But the cane is also a scabbard for a sword that can be drawn when needed. A simple locking mechanism ensures that the scabbard does not slip off accidentally.

Sword canes are available in mid— and southern Aventuria and come in many styles, from plain to lavishly decorated. Most have a foil as a blade; however, this weapon is not as fast as other fencing weapons and enemies find it easier to parry.
