Two-lilies

“Hundreds of years ago, Grangor outlawed weapons that had blades on only one end. Not to be deterred, some of the city’s Phex-pleasing burghers invented the two-lilies, a weapon with blades on both ends. Grangor has long since rescinded this strange prohibition against spears and polearms, but the city guards still carry their two-lilies with pride. I wonder if modern Grangorans are as pleasing unto Phex as the people who invented the two-lilies?”
— Excerpt from the diary of a traveling Blessed One of Phex, 998 FB

The two-lilies is a rather quaint looking weapon that looks like a cross between a quarterstaff and a halberd. Fighters use it like a staff but its blades allow for thrusts like the infantry weapon. It is well-suited for defense and promotes a dexterous, almost dance-like fighting style. However, the two-lilies is not sturdy enough to deliver strong attacks.

This weapon is synonymous with the Horasian harbor town of Grangor, which first developed it, and the city guards have carried them for generations. Some warriors look down upon the guards for their weapons—until they see the two-lilies in action, that is. Two-lilies are rarely available outside of the Horasian Empire, and then only in towns with long established trading ties with Grangor. Rumors speak of Mhanadian and even dwarven versions of this weapon.
