Bastard Sword

The bastard sword is a relatively new development, having sprung from the Wandering Sword movement of recent times. Its cousin, the hand-and-a-half sword, is similar but stems from a far older tradition.

Regardless of what people call it, this is a twohanded weapon. It performs well for attack and parry, though it doesn’t inflict as much damage as a true great sword and it proves tiring when used in combination with a shield.
