Composite Bow
“Next to the long bow and the elf bow, the composite bow has the greatest range of any bow. They are well suited for use from horseback, and mounted archers make a highly mobile ranged unit.”
— Excerpt from Chapter IV of War and Skirmishes:
A Primer for Field Officers, 1005 FB
A composite bow consists of multiple pieces joined in the middle, at the grip. This grants the composite bow first-rate penetrating power and great range. Few other traditional bows are as accurate. The composite bow’s versatility is lessened only by its tendency to become entangled in underbrush when hunting in dense forests.

“Even though it is highly accurate, the composite bow is not widely encountered, perhaps because it is difficult to make.”
