Elf Bow

“Every merchant from Thalusa to Norbury would pay a premium to get their hands on one of the bows used by the djinn. Such an opportunity would be exceedingly precious, as those masters of spellcraft have never willingly parted with their weapons.”
— Salim al’Dhalsim, far trader from Thalusa, 1037 FB

The elf bow, which the elves call a yara, is unquestionably the best of all bows, surpassing even the mighty long bow in range and penetrating power. Elven accuracy is legendary, and no human has ever achieved the same level of perfection with an elf bow. Due to quirks of its design and construction, the yara cannot be used from horseback (the elven riding bow carried by mounted steppe elves of the Green Plain is quite different to this bow).

Layariel Treetopglint, elven wyldrunner

“We elves are one with our yara, whether on the hunt or in combat. The loss of a bow is mourned as deeply as the death of a family member.”

— Layariel Treetopglint, elven wyldrunner

Arbosh son of Angrax, forge dwarf master smith

“Sounds like an elvish reaction, but I sympathize with you. I would cry, too, if I lost my rock-cleaver.”

— Arbosh son of Angrax, forge dwarf master smith
