Belt Pouch

Like their cousin, the more sophisticated coin pouches, these containers have multiple compartments to easily store many different trinkets. They are less rectangular and much narrower in design. Slits on their reverse side allow them to slide easily onto a belt and be kept close to the body. They are either loosely tied shut or elaborately secured with straps and metal closures so they remain closed when moving at a fast pace. These pouches keep belongings and smaller tools (such as vials, healing herbs, or other alchemicae, but also nails, hammers, or even tiny weapons) within reach for any eventuality. Wearing a long shirt above the belt easily thwarts a cutpurse, because the pouch underneath is hardly noticeable or at least is more difficult to reach.
