Shoulder Bag
“You say he was wearing a shoulder bag? In that case, he can only have been a mage. Or a Blessed One of Peraine. Or an adventurer or other scoundrel. Or…”
-Bergfried Grossmann, city guard of Andergast, 1039 FB
Few transportable containers are more popular among adventurers, and especially among mages and herbalists. Typical shoulder bags are made from leather and hang from the shoulder from one or two straps, which can also allow one to wear the bag on one’s back. These bags close with either a buckle or a cord.
Shoulder bags are a convenient place to carry found items such as herbs or coins without all the trouble of having to unlimber and unbuckle a backpack. Having these small items within easy reach is another advantage, especially for someone who might need to quickly reach a healing potion or a small weapon.
Note that shoulder bags are not waterproof and any contents may not survive being dropped into a river or a lake.
