Brabak Cudgel
“The Brabak cudgel is basically the southern Aventurian version of the mace. But we southlanders wouldn’t be who we are if we didn’t add a little humor to our weapons. The Brabak cudgel features spikes that can inflict deep wounds, and the middle section looks like a head or a face that grins at the enemy. This is where it gets its name.”

Rumor says that the Brabak cudgel was invented in Brabak, but the exact circumstances are unknown. This spiked club first gained popularity in the gladiatorial arenas of southern Aventuria and soon saw use with soldiers, slave hunters, and questadores. It breaks bones and pierces leather and chainmail armor with equal ease, thanks to its long, rounded, thorn-like spikes. Its characteristic feature is the smiling face carved into its head. The Brabak cudgel’s main drawbacks stem from its weight and its improper balance.

“The Brabak cudgel looks more dangerous than it is. Parrying with it is difficult, as it is far heavier than a typical mace.”
